A major library extension, student services and public concourse at the heart of an extensive remake of RMIT University’s Melbourne city campus.
Additional teaching and library spaces, flexible learning spaces, facade upgrades, fluent circulation spaces and a wholly reinvented public realm are key features of this major upgrade.
The renovation makes permeable the existing building creating public links between Swanston Street and Bowen Street over multiple levels.
These strong pedestrian throughways and proximity to Storey Hall, the RMIT Swanston Academic Building opposite and the RMIT Design Hub on the corner of Swanston and Victoria Street serves to further enmesh the University with the city.
